If you are the speaker of an event, you have special access to the event room before the event officially starts. This is called the set up mode, and it acts as a “backstage” for you to test things out before the attendees enter!

To access set up mode, you can use the event link which will be provided to you by our team prior to the event. Please note that you must be logged in with the Codementor account you used to create the event to access this mode.

In the set up mode, you can use all the features as if you’re in the actual event:

• Adjust your audio and video settings [link to FAQ]
• Screen sharing [link to FAQ]
• Chat (Note: The attendees can see your messages sent during set up mode after they join) [link to FAQ]

You’ll also be able to see how many attendees are currently waiting to join. It’s next to the “Start event” button on the top.

<aside> ⚠️ If you click “Start event” on the top, attendees will be able to join the event room, and you won’t be able to return to set up mode. Don’t start unless you’re absolutely ready!

Once you’ve tested everything, click “Start event” to let the attendees into the event room and enjoy hosting the event!

Note: You can start the event as early as 10 minutes prior to your scheduled event time.
